Early Career & Watford (2003–2007)
Ashley Young began his professional career at Watford, coming through their youth system. He made his senior debut in 2003 and quickly became a key player for the club. His performances in the 2005–06 season helped Watford secure promotion to the Premier League. He remained with Watford for part of the 2006–07 season before attracting interest from bigger clubs.

Aston Villa (2007–2011)
In January 2007, Aston Villa signed Young for around £9.65 million, making him one of the most expensive English teenagers at the time. He became a crucial player for Villa, excelling as a winger with his pace, dribbling, and crossing ability. He won the PFA Young Player of the Year (2009) and was included in the PFA Team of the Year multiple times.

During his time at Villa, Young played under Martin O’Neill and was a key part of a team that competed in the top half of the Premier League.

Manchester United (2011–2020)
Young moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2011 for a fee of around £17 million. He was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson and made an immediate impact, scoring twice in an iconic 8-2 victory over Arsenal.

Premier League Winner (2012–13): Young was part of the squad that won the 2012–13 Premier League title, which was Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season.
Over the years, Young transitioned from an attacking winger to a full-back under managers such as Louis van Gaal, José Mourinho, and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Club Captain (2019–20): Young became United's club captain in 2019, leading the team before departing in January 2020.

Inter Milan (2020–2021)
In January 2020, Young joined Inter Milan on a short-term deal, later extending for another season. Under Antonio Conte, he played as a wing-back and helped Inter win the Serie A title in 2020–21, ending Juventus’ nine-year dominance.

Return to Aston Villa (2021–2023)
Young returned to Aston Villa in 2021 on a free transfer, bringing experience and leadership to the team. He played under Steven Gerrard and later Unai Emery, filling in at full-back and midfield.

Everton (2023–Present)
