Terrence "Tony" Young was an English footballer known for his versatility on the field, primarily playing as a full-back. Born in Urmston, Lancashire, near Old Trafford, he began his football journey with Manchester United's youth system.

Young made his first-team debut for Manchester United 29/08/1970 v West Ham United at Old Trafford during a 1-1 draw in a League Division One match at the age of 17. Initially recognized as a right-winger, he showcased his adaptability by also excelling as a right-back. During his tenure with the club, he made a total of 97 appearances and scored one goal during a match v Chelsea very late on Saturday 3rd November 1973. He was a key figure in manager Tommy Docherty's squad, contributing significantly during the 1973–74 season, which saw the team secure promotion back to the First Division.

In 1976, Young transferred to Charlton Athletic, Later that year, he joined York City, making 78 league appearances and scoring twice between 1976 and 1978. He concluded his professional football career with a stint at Runcorn.

Young passed away in December 2024 at the age of 71. Throughout his career, Tony Young was celebrated for his dedication, versatility, and team-oriented mindset, leaving a lasting impact on those who played alongside him.
