Paul Ince, born on October 21, 1967, is a former English footballer best known for his dynamic midfield play and leadership on the pitch. Nicknamed "The Guv’nor," Ince had a distinguished career, becoming one of the first Black players to captain the England national team. He was a key player for Manchester United from 1989 to 1995, where he won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups, playing a vital role in the club’s early 1990s dominance under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ince’s versatility, tough tackling, and ability to dictate play made him one of the top midfielders of his era. After leaving Manchester United, Ince enjoyed a successful stint at Inter Milan, one of the few English players to thrive in Italy's Serie A. He later returned to England to play for Liverpool, Middlesbrough, and Wolverhampton Wanderers before retiring in 2006.

Ince also made 53 appearances for England, participating in Euro 1996 and the 1998 World Cup. His trailblazing role as the first Black England captain paved the way for future generations.

After his playing career, Ince transitioned into management, with spells at clubs like MK Dons, Blackburn Rovers, and Blackpool. Despite mixed managerial success, Ince’s legacy as a top-level midfielder and a groundbreaking figure in English football remains intact.
