Danny Wallace was born in Greenwich, London, and grew up with a natural talent for football. He began his career with Southampton, joining the club as an apprentice in 1979. Known for his explosive pace, skillful dribbling, and ability to score goals, Wallace quickly became a fan favorite at The Dell. He made his first-team debut for Southampton at the age of 16 in 1979, becoming the youngest player to appear for the club at that time. Wallace formed part of an exciting team alongside players like Kevin Keegan and Mick Channon. His performances earned him widespread recognition as one of the brightest young talents in English football.

Wallace spent a decade with Southampton, amassing over 300 appearances and scoring more than 70 goals in all competitions. His most productive season came in 1983–84, when he scored 15 league goals and helped Southampton finish second in the First Division, their highest-ever league finish. Known for his versatility, Wallace often played on the left wing but was also capable of playing as a forward. His creativity and ability to beat defenders made him a crucial part of the team during the 1980s.

On 18/09/1989 for a fee of £1.3m, Wallace signed for Manchester United, becoming one of Alex Ferguson’s early signings as the manager sought to rebuild the team. Wallace brought flair and experience to United’s attack, primarily operating as a left winger. Wallace played an important role in the team’s success in the 1990 FA Cup, helping United secure their first major trophy under Ferguson. He featured prominently throughout the competition and played in the final against Crystal Palace, which United won after a replay. However, injuries and competition for places limited Wallace’s appearances in subsequent seasons. Despite these challenges, he contributed to the club’s resurgence and was part of the squad that laid the groundwork for Ferguson's future successes.

In total, Wallace made 71 appearances and scored 11 goals for Manchester United before leaving the club in 1993.

Later Career
After leaving Manchester United, Wallace transferred to Birmingham City, 15/10/1993 for £400,000 but struggled with injuries that curtailed his playing time. He later had brief stints with Wycombe Wanderers and St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland before retiring from professional football in 1996.

International Career
Wallace earned one cap for the England national team, making his debut in a friendly against Egypt in 1986. While his international career was brief, his talent and contributions at club level left a lasting impression.

Off the Pitch and Health Challenges
After retiring, Wallace faced significant health challenges. In 1996, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic condition that affects the nervous system. Despite the diagnosis, Wallace has remained positive and has become an advocate for raising awareness about MS, often speaking publicly about his experiences.
