Biography Alejandro Garnacho is an Argentine professional footballer who has quickly risen through the ranks at Manchester United since joining the club in 2020. Born on July 1, 2004, in Madrid, Spain, Garnacho began his youth career at Atlético Madrid before moving to United's academy.
Garnacho made his first-team debut for Manchester United on April 28, 2022, in a Premier League match against Chelsea. His impressive performances in youth competitions, particularly in the FA Youth Cup, where he helped the team lift the trophy, highlighted his potential. Known for his explosive pace, dribbling skills, and ability to play as a winger, he quickly became a fan favorite.
In the 2022-2023 season, Garnacho made several important appearances for the senior team, showcasing his talent in both domestic and European competitions. He scored his first senior goal for United in a match against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League, further solidifying his place in the squad.
His exciting style of play and willingness to take on defenders have made him a key player for Manchester United's attacking unit. As of the 2023-2024 season, Alejandro Garnacho continues to develop and is seen as one of the club's brightest young talents, with the potential to become a future star in world football. Garnacho is a big fan and heavily influenced by former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, Garnacho joined the MUFC youth system from Atlético Madrid in October 2020. He won the FA Youth Cup and the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in May 2022.
The Argentine made his debut for the senior national squad in June 2023 & and was a member of the 2024 Copa América winning squad. His goal in the 2024 FA Cup final was the first teenager since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004, he also became the second Argentinian to score in a FA Cup final since Tottenham Hotspur's Ricardo Villa scored twice in 1981 also against Manchester City.
After falling out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim, the Argentine forward publicly criticised his manager on social media after the Europa League Final and was moved the Bomb squad for the start of summer 2025.
Garnacho was at Stamford Bridge on 30/08/2025 to watch Chelsea's 2-0 win over Fulham before finalising his transfer to the Blues for £40m.
