Biography
Denis Irwin is one of the greatest and most reliable defenders in Manchester United history. Known for his versatility, consistency, and calm demeanor, Irwin was a key player during Manchester United's dominant era in the 1990s and early 2000s. Playing primarily as a left-back, but equally adept at right-back, Irwin made over 500 appearances for United from 1990 to 2002, contributing both defensively and offensively with his set-piece ability.

Irwin won seven Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and the 1999 UEFA Champions League as part of United's historic treble-winning season. His ability to score from free-kicks and penalties added an extra dimension to his game, making him one of the most respected full-backs of his era.

On the international stage, Irwin earned 56 caps for the Republic of Ireland, representing his country in the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

After leaving United in 2002, Irwin played for Wolverhampton Wanderers before retiring in 2004. His legacy as a dependable, technically skilled defender remains strong, and he is often regarded as one of the most underrated players in football history.
