Altay Bayindir, born on April 14, 1998, in Osmangazi, Turkey, is a professional goalkeeper who plays for Manchester United and the Turkish national team. Bayindir began his footballing career in Turkey, playing for youth teams before making his professional debut with Ankaragücü in 2016. His strong performances attracted the attention of bigger clubs, and in 2019, he signed with Fenerbahçe, one of Turkey's top teams. During his time at Fenerbahçe, Bayindir developed a reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in the Turkish Süper Lig. Known for his shot-stopping ability, agility, and command of the penalty area, he became a regular starter and earned praise for his consistent performances. Bayindir also gained experience in European competitions, playing in the UEFA Europa League. In 2023, Bayindir made a significant move to Manchester United, becoming the club’s first-ever Turkish player. Signed as a backup to first-choice goalkeeper André Onana, Bayindir is seen as a reliable option with the potential to compete for the starting spot in the future.
