Whilst a coach for Torino FC, Leslie lost his life in The Superga Air Disaster 04/05/1949, all 31 passengers aboard the Italian Airlines Fiat G212CP including 18 players, club officials, journalists all sadly perished after the plane crashed into the hill of Superga near Turin
