Ten Hag's new players at Manchester United: What to expect for the 2024-2025 season

Anticipations are running high at Old Trafford as Manchester United hope to bounce back to Premier League title contenders in the 2024/2025 season. The Red Devils are still revamping their squad this summer, with manager Erik ten Hag hoping to strengthen his side ahead of their next season campaign.

Manchester United fell short last season after a mixed bag of performances, ending their premier league campaign eighth below Newcastle and Chelsea. Nonetheless, the premier league giants are hoping to bounce back to their title contention form with a revamped squad following the departure of Willy Kambwala, Mason Greenwood, and several other key players.

But can Erik ten Hag’s new signings revitalize his squad as he hopes to rank among the top four in the 2024/2025 Premier League campaign? Here’s a brief preview of Manchester United’s new signings and what you can expect from them next season.

Manchester United's new signings and what to expect

After extending his contract as Manchester United’s coach earlier this year, Erik ten Hag hopes to revamp his squad ahead of their next season’s campaign. The Red Devils have brought in several signings this summer, hoping to bounce back to their title contention form and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester United started the summer transfer window with the acquisition of Lenny Yoro and Joshua Zirkee. These two youngsters have proven their worth in Manchester United's team and will be crucial in their bid to rank among the top four in their 2024/2025 campaign. However, Erik ten Hag is still looking for more talent in his bid to challenge title contenders Manchester City, who ranks as the favorite team to win the Premier League title next season.

Zirkzee arrives at Old Trafford from Bologna with a growing reputation and hopes to become a regular at Eric Ten Hag’s team. The Dutch striker will be a crucial addition to Man-U’s attacking arsenal next season, bolstered by his great physique and skills. The 23-year-old is quite comfortable with the ball and his technical ability to maneuver in tight spaces will be essential for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, French defender Lenny Yoro will be joining the Red Devils from Lille as Ten Hag’s potential long-term solution for his center-back. The 18-year-old is known for his composure while under pressure and his ball distribution skills will be essential in building Manchester United’s attacks from the back. The two signings highlight the Red Devil’s commitment to developing young talents with the potential to transform into star players in seasons to come.

Given his talent and skills, Yoro should be among the top players to watch for Manchester United fans in their 2024/2025 EPL campaign. However, his performance early next season remains uncertain after sustaining an injury during Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the US. However, Erik Ten Hag has received the much-needed boost in his defense ahead of his friendly fixture against Real Betis as Victor Lindelof resumes full training at their UCLA base.

Lindelof has been linked to a move this summer as Manchester United hopes to free up some funds, but he still has a year remaining in his contract. However, he hasn’t played in Manchester United’s last three friendly matches during their summer pre-season preparation in a bid to build his fitness. Nonetheless, the Swedish athlete has resumed training with the Red Devils and offers a reprieve as Ten Hag hopes to discover the extent of Lenny Yoro’s injury ahead of their 2024/2025 EPL campaign.
