Bruno Fernandes has been at Manchester United since January 2020, and few players in the club's history have contributed as consistently as the Portuguese captain. This season, though, he has taken things to another level, with betting exchange odds on United finishing in the top four shortening with almost every game he influences. Most Premier League assists in a single season by a Manchester United player
The headline record of the season. Fernandes surpassed David Beckham's mark of 15 Premier League assists for Man U in a single campaign, set during the 1999-2000 season, when he registered his 16th against Aston Villa in March. With eight games still to play at the time of writing, Bruno is also chasing the all-time Premier League record of 20 assists in a season, jointly held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
100 Premier League assists for Manchester United
The assist that broke Beckham's record was also Fernandes' 100th in the Premier League for the club, making him only the third Manchester United player ever to reach that landmark after Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
100 goals and 100 assists for Manchester United
When Fernandes reached 100 assists this season, he already had 105 goals to his name, making him only the third player in the club's entire history to hit both centuries. Giggs and Rooney are the other two, which says everything about the company he is in.
Second fastest player to reach 200 goal contributions for Manchester United
Fernandes' 200th goal contribution for the club arrived in February, during the 2-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur, and he got there faster than almost any player in Manchester United's history, reaching the milestone in 314 appearances. Only Wayne Rooney, who needed 295 games, has done it quicker, with Cristiano Ronaldo needing 339 during his first spell at Old Trafford and David Beckham needing 393.
100th goal in his 200th Premier League appearance
In September 2025, Fernandes scored his 100th goal for Manchester United in all competitions during his 200th Premier League appearance for the club, a 2-1 win over Chelsea. The timing of it was almost too neat to believe.
Most assists by any player in the Premier League this season
Fernandes' 16 Premier League assists this season are double the tally of his nearest rival in the division. His creative output has been so far ahead of everyone else that it barely looks like a fair comparison, with Fernandes having created 100 chances in the league this season and Arsenal's Declan Rice, the next closest, sitting on 58.
Most assists for Manchester United under any single manager in one stint
Since Michael Carrick took charge in January 2026, Fernandes has registered nine assists in nine Premier League games, closing in rapidly on the tallies of managers who worked with him across full seasons, and it is a big part of why United have gone from sixth to third in the table since Carrick's arrival. |
