Pre-season test against European champions headlines Manchester United’s pre-season schedule

Manchester United will prepare for the 2026/27 campaign with a pre-season schedule of six games in five different European countries.
The standout fixture is undoubtedly the clash with Paris Saint-Germain in Sweden on August 8, which is guaranteed to spark a betting frenzy.
The oddsmakers at LiveScore Bet will be offering a wide range of markets for a game which will play an integral role in United’s preparations. Here is our game-by-game guide.
Wrexham (Helsinki, Finland – July 18)
Wrexham narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs last season and will be one of the bookmakers’ favourites for promotion this time around.
United previously faced the Welsh club during their successful European Cup-Winners' Cup campaign in 1990/91, defeating them 5-0 on aggregate.
Significant investment by their Hollywood owners has transformed Wrexham’s fortunes and they will hope to upset the odds Finland.
Rosenborg (Trondheim, Norway – July 24)
United previously faced Rosenborg in a friendly two years ago, but suffered a 1-0 defeat just one day after the 2024 European Championship final.
The 26-time Norwegian champions are struggling this season, winning just two of their first 11 matches in the Eliteserien.
The Red Devils’ army of fans in Norway will be eager to see the team in action and this should be an entertaining encounter.
Atletico Madrid (Stockholm, Sweden – August 1)
The Snapdragon Cup will be on the line against when Atletico Madrid go head-to-head with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in Sweden on August 1.
Atletico reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, but were eventually eliminated 2-1 on aggregate by Arsenal.
Diego Simeone’s hard-working side defeated the Red Devils by the same aggregate scoreline in the 2021/22 Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain (Gothenburg, Sweden – August 8)
Gothenburg will host a blockbuster clash against reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain on August 8.
PSG retained the Champions League title last season, defeating Arsenal after a penalty shoot-out following a tense final at the Puskas Arena in Hungary.
The Ligue 1 giants, who have become the benchmark for other teams to match in Europe, will provide United with a stern pre-season test.
Leeds United (Dublin, Republic of Ireland – August 12)
The fixture between United and Leeds at Croke Park is the first association football match between domestic teams to be held at the historic venue.
Leeds have been regular pre-season opponents United in recent years. They drew 0-0 draw at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm in 2025.
The Whites subsequently took four points off United in their two league meetings last season, drawing 1-1 at Elland Road before claiming an impressive 2-1 victory in Manchester.
AC Milan – (Wroclaw, Poland – August 15)
AC Milan finished fifth in Serie A last season and have several top players in their squad, including Mike Maignan, Luka Modric, Rafael Leao and Adrien Rabiot.
They are now managed by former United boss Ruben Amorim, who signed a two-year contract with the club earlier this month.
Amorim will be eager to make a statement in Poland, making this final pre-season fixture a tricky test for Michael Carrick’s side.
