Man Utd Eyeing Nicolas Jackson to Form Lethal Partnership with Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United are deep in talks to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the 2025/26 season, with two standout Premier League forwards in focus. After months of drawn-out negotiations, the club has reportedly submitted a third bid for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, offering a fixed fee of £65 million plus £5 million in potential bonuses. The 25-year-old Cameroon international is coming off the most prolific season of his career, scoring 20 goals in 2024/25. With United managing just 44 league goals last term, Mbeumo is seen as a vital piece in their efforts to become more dangerous in the final third.

But United aren't stopping there. They’re also considering a move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson. The 23-year-old Senegalese striker netted 13 goals across all competitions last season and has caught the attention of United’s sporting director Jason Wilcox. Chelsea are reportedly open to offers, though Jackson’s valuation could reach £100 million.

If United secure both players, the boost in attacking options could significantly reshape their front line, a much-needed change. Optimism is building not just among fans but also across top EU betting sites, where the Red Devils are now priced at 6/4 to finish in the top six, marking a sharp turnaround from last season’s disappointing 15th-place finish. These platforms, known for competitive football odds, fast payouts, and generous offers like odds boosts, free bets, and matched deposit bonuses, are becoming go-to spots for punters eager to back United’s potential resurgence, especially if both Mbeumo and Jackson arrive ahead of next season.

Jackson’s style has drawn comparisons to former United forward Louis Saha. While not the most clinical finisher, Jackson thrives on movement, pace, and exploiting gaps behind defenders. He averages over six touches in the opposition box per 90 minutes, regularly tests goalkeepers, and isn’t shy about taking defenders on. His 2024/25 numbers point to a forward who constantly applies pressure, stretches defences, and adds a lively presence in the final third.

At Chelsea, Jackson showed he could contribute across various areas of the pitch. Alongside his goals and assists, he created over one chance per game and showed enough versatility to adapt to different roles. His aerial strength and ability to draw fouls added another layer to his value. With United manager Ruben Amorim favouring a 3-4-2-1 setup, Jackson’s movement and physicality could fit neatly into that system, especially when paired with Mbeumo’s pace and delivery.

Bringing both Jackson and Mbeumo to Old Trafford could signal a significant shift in United’s attacking intent. With a third bid now lodged for Mbeumo, the club’s determination is clear. Mbeumo offers precision and directness, while Jackson brings unpredictability and dynamic runs. Together, they could form a balanced and dangerous front line, giving United more variety in attack and helping to solve the scoring issues that plagued them last season.

Still, the £100 million valuation for Jackson could be a major obstacle, particularly with other clubs such as Aston Villa and AC Milan also interested in the Senegalese forward. For the move to materialise, United would likely need to negotiate a lower fee given their financial priorities across the squad. If they do secure both players, however, it would signal a bold step in their rebuild. Combining Mbeumo’s proven Premier League record with Jackson’s explosive potential could provide the formula United need to compete at the top again.
