The
Football League closed down at the end of the 1914-15 season until the
end of the war.
Two regional leagues were organised for the Midlands and Lancashire and
London clubs formed their own competition.
In 1918 and 1919 the Midlands and Lancashire champions met over two legs
in unofficial championship matches
(these titles are not counted in clubs championship totals)..
