MATCH (2)
Loughborough Town team strips fail to turn up via railway and are lost somewhere in Crewe as well as the trainer. Match report states some players have trousers rolled up above the knees & various shirt colours & knickers suitable for schoolboys scraped together, a half hour after the appointed time the teams entered the field with, as the report suggest, "a stranger would have thought a burlesque match was to be played". Spectators laugh heartily at the Loughborough Town players. Ward's knickers collapsed & he was forced to leave the field, Swift's knickers did not reach near as far as his knees and the jerseys which were of nondescript character were most composed of black and gold.
