Conference Highlights |

On Antonio
Valencia
“Antonio is making
progress exactly as we thought he would,” Sir Alex
revealed. “It’s always difficult when you’re talking
about long-term injuries because you can be weeks
out either way. But we’re certainly looking at the
end of February or beginning of March.
"He should be back in
training in five or six weeks. But given the
extended period of time he’s been out, we’ll give
him time to get back into the full flow of things.”
ON Wayne
Rooney
“He was buzzing last week
at West Brom. I thought he was terrific,” says the
boss. “That’s why I am keen to have him ready for
Sunday. We’ll see what he’s like in training, but
we’ll give him every chance. You’d have to say he
has a reasonable chance of playing.” |

Michael Owen
“We're delighted we're at home but we know it's
going to be tough,” Owen told United Review, the
official matchday programme. “That said, I'm sure
it's going to be a lot harder for Liverpool.
“It's probably fair to say we'd both have been
hoping for an easier path to the next round, but
that's the beauty of the FA Cup. Big teams always go
out and this year it won't be any different. We just
hope it's not us.” |
