Conference Highlights &
Team News |
|
ON MUFC in Europe
"The present group has
enough experience in Europe now. I think it's where
we should be," "My expectation has always been high
in regard to the European scene. You do get envious
of other clubs' records in Europe and we're trying
to get to parity with those clubs: Real Madrid, AC
Milan, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Liverpool...We need to
progress quickly to get to that level again."
ON team Selection
"I needed to keep us fresh against Everton, knowing
that three days later we would be playing Schalke in
the first leg of a Champions League semi-final.
"I had one eye on the trip to Germany and, of
course, big games in the league against Arsenal and
Chelsea. "I enjoy this critical stage of a
season, when we are involved in big games that come
at you thick and fast, with little recovery time in
between.
"Team selection comes into its own, and just as the
players have to rise to every occasion, so do I as I
try to keep the team fresh and raring to go." |
|
John O'Shea
"We have to make sure we show them our history,
why we have got to finals, why we have won them, why
we have been in this situation many times before,"
said O'Shea.
"We have to impose ourselves whilst understanding
the threats they have, which we will have to cope
with." |
|
EVDS on Raul
Gonzalez
"He is not someone you can take your eye off because
he is so dangerous and only needs a little chance to
score a goal, our defence will have to be on their
toes when they play against him." |
