Pre Match Press Conference Highlights

Carrick on playing his old club

"West Ham gave me my chance," he said. "They took me away from home, taught me a lot of things and guided me through.  "They gave me a chance in the first team, so I have a lot to thank them for.

"I still have a lot of friends there who I like to see when I go back. "But, obviously, when we kick off it is business as usual and I am desperate to get the win."

On the Everton defeat

"The league has been wide open this season - it's been funny like that,"  "Teams have dropped points you don't expect them to drop, but the very nature of the league suggests we still have a good chance.

"We've got a big match on Tuesday night - it's a massive game for this club and hopefully we can get the result we need."
