Manchester United with relative ease booked a place in the Club World Cup Final against Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito of Ecuador after an 8 goal thrilling match against Japan's Gamba Osaka, the Japanese outfit will now play Mexico's Pachuca for third place in the tournament.

A brace from Wayne Rooney &  headed goals from Vidic, Ronaldo & Darren Fletcher were more than enough despite a late flurry of goals from United's opponents.

The current Asian Champions League winners started with promise when Tomokazu Myojin tried from distance testing EVDS and United replied with Carlos Tevez crossing for strike partner Ryan Giggs.

Ryuji Bando found himself with only EVDS to beat later but the Dutch Veteran made a block.

Ronaldo then sent a shot fizzing wide as United looked extremely dangerous as the gulf between the teams began to show, the Champions of Europe then took a deserved lead as from a set piece which Gamba looked venerable under Ryan Giggs crossed a corner & defender Nemanja Vidic nodded easily into the back of the net after Goalkeeper Yamaguchi hesitated

Ronaldo skipping past Osaka almost at will, delivered a cross to Brazilian midfielder Anderson unmarked in the box and rather than opening his Goalscoring account he partially headed the ball with little accuracy.

At the stroke of half time, Ronaldo put daylight between the two sides as he met another headed cross from a corner as the Osaka defenders contributed to saying sayonara to their chances with kamikaze defending.

Soon after the second half started United found the net again, however after Patrice Evra had fed Carlos Tevez into the box the Argentine Striker was adjudged to have been offside as he slipped the ball into an empty net after beating the Osaka Keeper.

SAF then added to his previous changes of Fletcher & Evans for Scholes & Vidic and changed Wayne Rooney for Carlos Tevez.

With United clearly sleeping, a quick attack down the right saw Osaka score through Masato Yamazaki who took his chance superbly by beating EVDS taking the score to 2-1.

With barely the dust settling on the Osaka goal, with his 1st touch of the match Rooney made it 3-1 when Darren Fletcher fed the United strikers run into the box & it has to be said poor defending again contributed to Rooney scoring for the United.

Patrice Evra then demonstrated why he will be missed when his English ban commences on the return of United to England as attacking found Darren Fletcher with a dangerous cross the Scot headed into the net with ease making the score 4-1.

Rooney claimed his brace in the 78th minute for 5-1 after Nani & the impressive Ryan Giggs combined, the Welshman claiming his third assist of the night.

Gary Neville was then penalized harshly for a handball in the United penalty area after Bando's cross struck the veterans arm and Endo easily converted the resulting penalty for 5-2.

The final & most impressive goal of the night came next as Gamba made it 5-3 when Hashimoto speared the ball with venom past EVDs in the United goal.
