 Match Review
Well guess what Merseyside.........Were Back

Manchester United finally claimed their 18th top flight League Title after gaining the required point needed to pip the "Runners up" Liverpool.

In a nervy affair United, were far from their best as the match was played out to a 0-0 score line with Arsen Wenger's men playing the better football, however it was to be United's day and the Reds were crowned Champions of England for the third straight season and an 18th time.

Equalling Liverpool's record of Eighteen, SAF in an interview after the game revealed his intentions of making it 19 plus as he told SKY SPORTS he will stay as long as his health allows.

With the Tevez affair still rumbling on, SAF chose the Apache to start with Rooney & Ronaldo as his front three, leaving Berbatov on the bench for the final game of the season at Old Trafford.

Jonny Evans continued to deputise for Rio Ferdinand who had a calf injury & Fletcher, Carrick & Giggs took the midfield areas.

Over the duration of the game both van Persie and Fabregas saw good chances go wide as Arsenal threatened to ruin United's party making it a tense, tense affair as United struggled to gather momentum over the 90 minutes.

However United held on with Nemanja Vidic & Darren Fletcher excelling defensively for the Reds.

United looked dangerous early when Darren Fletcher sent Ronaldo through but his cross was blocked by the Arsenal defenders & the dangerous Arshavin who was returning from illness then threatened United's goal as his dribbling ended when Jonny Evans cleared this was only the beginning of a good display by the returning Russian star as he delivered a perilous cross which Van Persie guided over after the Dutch lone striker lost JOS & Vidic.

Ryan Giggs fed Ronaldo on the right & after a headed clearance by Toure from Ronaldo's cross, Michael Carrick sent in a ball for Wayne Rooney who should have scored but headed wide after losing Sagna.

Van Persie doing more than Adebayor did over the whole Champions League encounters then saw himself dive for a penalty as Vidic tracked his run into the box.

Leaving their shooting boots at home, United continued to embarrass themselves with poor finishing as Ryan Giggs smashed a shot well over after being supplied by Wayne Rooney & the United captain decided to bend the ear of Rooney complaining about the quality of the Scousers ball & rather than the crap shot.

Both Specialists in Lifting Silverware............in their own ways

Arsenal then with maybe a smaller slice of fortune could have taken the lead when Nasri shot an off target attempt toward goal, Van Persie stuck out a leg which had wrong footed his Dutch countryman in United goal, but the ball fell to Vidic who cleared for United.

In the second half Carlos Tevez caused the Gunners some panic in the box after Darren Fletcher crossed from the right, unable to gather the loose ball & with the presence of Fabianski sliding in, Ronaldo was 1st to pounce but went on to blaze over the ball as his radar still stuttered for accuracy ala Wigan earlier in the week.

This was to be possibly the lovable Argies last action at Old Trafford as SAF brought on JSP for the waving & emotional looking Tevez, perhaps waving goodbye, he left for the bench but as SAF explained later, there was noting in the sub only that he looked tired.

We shall wait and see, as later in the day David Gill had made an announcement that the Tevez deal will be sorted one way of another in early June.  Fergie. Fergie sign him up.

Finding the net United unfortunately had their goal ruled out for offside, but as the replay showed Ronaldo was onside before JSP had supplied a through ball with Sagna playing him onside.

Did you stick it down the gobby
Scousers throat???

We were told by our local Wetherspoons Pub Manager to stop singing as the bar was getting complaints!!

Have your say below......

Ronaldo was then shoulder blocked off the ball by Song on the edge of the box & his radar was much better on this occasion as he scorched a free kick just over & into the Streford End.

Fabregas struck a post for the visitors before Wayne Rooney gave a way a dangerous & crowd stressing free kick, but blocking with his head ,Carrick averted any danger as he steered the powerful shot out for a corner.

Rooney was next to clear the danger from the resulting corner before the final whistle was blown for United's party to begin & many United fans to get totally smashed out their brains and stay out till 4 o clock in the morning with little recollection of the night beyond 9 o'clock.
