Pre
Match Press Conference Highlights |
ON
Rio Ferdinand's injury
"Rio's scan revealed no crack or break to his ribs," Sir
Alex confirmed. "There was some bruising to his lung, which
is why he coughed up blood on the night.
"He's definitely out of Saturday's game against Boro, but
we're hopeful for Tuesday against Arsenal. We should be able
to get him training again on Sunday, but he didn't train
today (Friday)."
On the general squad
Everyone was buoyant in training today, and everyone wants
to play tomorrow,"
"But there will be changes. Paul Scholes didn't play on
Wednesday, and Ryan Giggs only played 20 minutes. So we just
need to get the right balance."
On Wes Brown
"Wes may start on the bench," added the boss. "He needs 90
minutes, but I couldn't risk him in the Reserves against
Sunderland on Thursday because of the situation with Rio. |
