 Match Review

The Editor of MUFCINFO.COM Article by Mark Graham, Editor, Record Keeper & Official Reporter @ MUFCINFO.COM.

A plethora of goals for Manchester United & a sending off for West Brom saw the Champions demolish bottom side West Brom at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night, goals from Dimitar Berbatov, Carlos Tevez, Nemanja Vidic & a brace from Ronaldo tore the Baggies apart.

SAF making a mockery of us good web bloggers sprang a delightful surprise to the press & others after three injury victims made the field as the game wore on, Rio Ferdinand returned as did JSP with Wes Brown making a long awaited comeback from injury as a substitute.
The View!!The Throstles began the match very bright as the running of Jay Simpson & Fortune kept United from gaining any sort of momentum especially in midfield as Carrick & Ryan Giggs struggled centrally in the opening stages of the match.  Carrick seemingly wearing a blindfold for the beginning of the game lost possession time & time again with wild passing which the master certainly must have left himself wondering what was indeed happening.

With SAF fielding the central partnership of Carrick & Giggs & the pair continuing to frustrate early West Brom kept United busy when Gianni Zuiverloon had a shot cleared off the line by you guest it Carrick.

the Ex Tottenham man then started to fine his rhythm as did Ryan Giggs & as the United machine began to click into gear Scott Carson saved from JSP & showed good goalkeeping instincts dashing from his line to hinder Berbatov hovering dangerously.

Continuing with pressure, Ronaldo wasted a decent chance to open the scoring after good build up play resulted in a scuffed poor shot wide, but it seemed only a matter of time before United make more of the chances they were creating.

With the form at the start of the match now a distant memory Michael Carrick as he did in the previous game against Spurs combined with Berbatov's expert run & keeping onside the Bulgarian gathered Carrick's pass before beating Carson for the deserved opener.

Diabetics nightmare

Within seconds United almost went 2-0 up as a Ryan Giggs tackle turned defence into attack, the Welshman passed to Ronaldo on the left who looking up saw Carlos Tevez running to meet a cross in the box, but the Argentine was unlucky not to score when his shot went agonizingly wide.
United soon after had an appeal for a penalty turned down as Gary Neville sprinting into the box seemed to be clipped by Brunt as the fullback rushed into the West Bromwich penalty area, but ref Rob Styles waved play on.

The Giggs/Carrick midfield was beginning to totally dominate & create as Giggs slipped Ronaldo a peach but clean through Ronaldo shot wide.

Still at 1-0 United were warned the game was far from won & required more work as Zuiverloon shot well wide from 10 yards out from a good position.

Best Away Pub in West Bromwich

The main talking point of the game came next as West Brom lost Robinson after a clumsy & rough tackle on JSP, however as harsh as it may have been for the straight red card Rob Styles brandished, only the most idiotic of Baggie fan would argue that their team was in the game as the point such was the authoritarian grip United had & with Giggs & Neville seemingly agreeing with Robinson on the harshness of the card & the cold light of day would soon dawn for West Brom.

With 1 minute to go before half time Scott Carson fumbled a Ryan Giggs swinging free kick & with the ball falling at the feet of a grateful "Apache" Tevez with an easy swing of the leg doubled United's lead as the ball hit the roof of the net from the inside.

In the second half Albion's Ryan Donk shocked EVDS & United as a sudden break saw his belting shot strike an upright but fortunately for United the defensive record remained intact.

United went three up on the hour through Nemanja Vidic (Editor: the boy is that good he eats Kendal Mint Cake) when Ryan Giggs provided another assist after the Serbian defender slipped his marker and nodded powerfully past Scott Carson.

Tony Mowbray tried to inject some fresh legs into the certain defeat as James Morrison and Roman Bednar entered the game for Zuiverloon and West Brom's MOTM Jay "OJ" Simpson.

With Ronaldo kicked from pillar to post for most of the game & continually the subject of mindless imbeciles chanting "you should have died in the tunnel" referring to his Ferrari wreckage, the Portuguese forward was a frustrated & frustrating figure as his rough treatment was taken with a sulk after time & time again his reaction was to look to the sky, flail his arm hopelessly as the opposition attacked.

Ronaldo must learn to take the rough with the smooth & dig deep like Derby County (a) last season as several United fans criticized his actions when thing would not go for the fabulously talented footballer.

Through Tanners Eyes!!
It cant be my round again, you fuc*in idiot.

With tail between legs Ronaldo was transformed when Carlos Tevez gave Ryan Giggs a opportunity to wave his "assists" wand as a thankful Cristiano Ronaldo finished with ease & celebrating emphatically.

Now with tail up, Ronaldo scored his second & United's fifth as an offside looking Berbatov supplied the ball which Ronaldo dispatched through Carson's legs.

With a comfortable lead Wes Brown & youngsters Richard Eckersley & Serbian Zoran Tosic were given some priceless experience as Ferdinand, Neville & Berbatov were given a rest.

Finally, United almost made it six but Scott Carson saved brilliantly from Carlos Tevez after a weaving run & the visitors ran out the clock on a very good nights work.
