Portsmouth v Manchester United,
Fratton Park, Portsmouth, 20.00pm, Monday 25th August 2008.

Carlos Tevez is available after a family bereavement saw the Argentine miss the opening day draw against Newcastle.

Anderson has returned from the Olympics but is not expected to play.

Nani serves the last match of his three match ban.

Cristiano Ronaldo trained this week but is still expected to be out until October.

Nemanja Vidic missed training but is expected to feature.

SAF confirmed that Michael Carrick will be out for three weeks

Sean Davis and Richard Hughes are available after injury.

Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar is a major doubt with a knee injury.

Lassana Diarra (knee) has reportedly recovered after "Mr Penalty" John Terry's new team mate "dirty Deco" almost crippled the Frenchman & former Chelsea rentboy in last weeks 4-0 defeat.

MUFCINFO.COM would like to take this opportunity to thank Mikael Silvestre who this week completed a move to Arsenal.

Silvestre's career in a Red shirt started 11/09/1999 at Anfield in a 3-2 victory to the Reds (Editor: of which I was there) and spanned almost a decade before his transfer this week to the Gunners, after being transferred from Inter Milan and playing as an opponent against members of the Treble winning side of 1999 the French full back went on to play 353 games for United scoring 9 times.

We would like to wish Silvestre all the best of luck in the future (except if Arsenal rival us for the title) & all the bad luck if United cross swords again with the former United defender.

 Pre Match Press Conference Highlights
On Wayne Rooney
"I’ve no problems with Rooney. It (being unselfish) is maybe not the biggest crime to have in your life as a footballer.

"It shows qualities of team ethic and it shows qualities of an unselfish nature, which is terrific to see in a footballer because we’re in an era of individual appreciation.

"How players celebrate goals, the earrings they wear, the tattoos they have, it's the era where they need to be seen. It’s refreshing that someone is prepared to sacrifice a lot of that for team effort, and I think carry on."

On Tevez
"Tevez is back, "He’s available.

On Hargreaves & Park

"Hargreaves and Ji-sung Park both trained with the first team this week, I’m delighted with that. Ji won’t be considered, Hargreaves we’ll assess on Sunday to see if he can play a part."

On Anderson
"Anderson will be back on Sunday, so that’s an extra body.

On Ryan Giggs
Giggs has trained the last couple of days, plus all the players have come back from internationals fit, which is a bonus, so we’re ok in that respect."
