Match Preview
MUFCINFO.COM will be reporting live from the Stadio Olympico in Rome along with a whole host of West Cumbria Reds making the trip.

Keep an eye out for our flag which my Wife deserves a mention as to the new additions she had painstakingly stitched to its fabric!!

Barcelona have been nominated as the home team with United the away and could play in White or the Classic Strip of Blue as the 1968 heroes did.

Manchester United have already beaten FC Barcelona before for silverware, when the Reds defeated the Spaniards in the 1990/1991 Cup Winners Cup Final in Rotterdam, where Mark Hughes scored twice for United & Ronald Keoman scored for Barca.

United have not lost to Spanish opposition in their last seven fixtures.

Both teams will have selection problems with Darren Fletcher suspended for United & Dani Alves and Eric Abidal for Barcelona.

MUFCINFO.COM DEBATE
Who is your Starting XI???

Have your say below......

This means that both Barca's starting Full backs are missing as is starting defender Rafael Marquez, the equivalent of United missing Vidic, Evra & O'Shea.

Since beating Arsenal in the 2006 final, Barcelona have played eight European matches against English opposition and won just once.

Carles Puyol returns from suspension, the Spaniard has also been in the middle of a poor run of form and was dropped by his manager recently.

Mark Hughes, Jordi Cruyff, Gerard Pique , Laurent Blanc & Henrik Larsson have played for both FC Barcelona & Manchester United.

Rio Ferdinand (calf) is expected to play after training at the weekend.

Thierry Henry (knee) and Andres Iniesta (thigh) like Ferdinand appear to have overcome respective injuries after training on Monday.

With the 26th May 2009 comes the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of one Alexander Matthew Busby, CBE, KCSG, who at the end of the day is the reason you me & millions of others are watching United in Europe.

Happy Birthday Sir Matt Busby & Thank you.
