Ronaldo may play even though he is carrying a knock picked up against Villa SAF said "It's a problem. I would rather leave him out,"  "Cristiano got a lot of whacks on Saturday. He got a few cuts but nothing serious. "When players show that enthusiasm to play you don't deter them you encourage it."

Darren Fletcher has trained & is included in the squad after missing the last several games.

EVDS didn't travel & SAF confirmed that Tomasz Kuszczak will play instead.

Ex Red Giuseppe Rossi is expected to play after injuries to Nihat Kahveci and Joseba Llorente & Jozy Altidore is also unavailable.

 Pre Match Press Conference Highlights

On Giuseppe Rossi
"We think very highly of him. He was a fantastic young player for us," Ferguson said of Rossi.  "The problem was satisfying him with regards to first-team football. It was very difficult for me. "When Villarreal made a good offer for him one of the conditions was that we had an option to buy him if they ever sold him.

"That is the situation. He is a Villarreal player and I am sure they want him to stay with them. He is doing very well."

On the Goalkeeper situation.
Ferguson said: "We are giving another goalkeeper an opportunity and experience. There is no better experience than a European tie away from home."

John O'Shea on the lack of goals in the meetings.
With the amount of attacking quality in both teams it shows how good the defenders have been!" he joked in reference to the 0-0 treble. "It’s strange, sometimes you get little runs like this against certain teams.

"Both sides respect each other so much and the last three matches have been like a chess game. They’re difficult to play against – they always do well in La Liga, so it’ll be tricky.

"We’re almost guaranteed qualification, but we’re not counting our chickens just yet. With the quality we have we should be able to score a few goals and hopefully get the win we want."
