On the journey back toward the our coach
from last nights game, your reporter over heard a Geordie
accent enlightening his friend as to his thoughts on the
nights proceedings "It would have been a different story if
we had a fit striker" he said, No I thought, even fully fit,
your teams record in Europe away from Park Head is shite.
United were that ruthless & professional in the
dispatch of your team my friend, you could have had 11
Ronaldo's and you would still have been soundly beaten.
Destroyed all over the park, Celtic were dismantled by the
better team, albeit with the help of the referee.
Dimitar Berbatov made it 4 goals in two matches in Europe &
Wayne Rooney added a deserving final goal as United ran out
comfortable winners 3-0.
SAF had his
selection problems at the beginning of the match as Rio
Ferdinand missed out with a groin injury, but in stepped
Jonny Evans for the England defender playing well in the
process, whilst gathering experience at every match &
looking a sure bet as a suitable back up for Vidic &
Ferdinand.
Contrary to popular believe Ronaldo kept his place in United
starting line up as United looked to make it 6 wins
straight.

The visiting side
were the first to make a clear cut chances forcing EVDS into
a save low to the left as Aiden McGeady tried from distance
& shortly after
Caldwell let fly with a
volleyed shot from 30 yards.
With the game starting to swing in United's favor, helped
considerably by the tireless work rate of Fletcher &
Anderson, United took the lead when Nani's corner ping
ponged around the Celtic penalty area, JOS in for the
injured Patrice Evra guided the ball goal bound for Berbatov
(in an offside position) clip the ball past Celtic's keeper
Boruc.
Rooney on this form is seemingly unstoppable & he began the
search for an addition to the score sheet with 30 yards
blast which Boruc gathered impressively.
Shortly after Nani struck a shot past the post before JOS
almost gave Celtic the lead after a miscue on a clearance
had the Irishman apologizing to EVDS
Darren Fletcher
then really should have done much better after excellent
control in the box & quick feet to create space was
unfortunately mismatched with his shot which landed almost
in the South Stand car park.
In the second
period, United doubled their lead soon after the second half
started, again in a cloud of controversy as a vicious
Ronaldo free kick was too much for Celtic Polish keeper to
handle, however Berbatov before the ball was struck had
moved into an offside position before racing toward the
Celtic goal & tapping in the fumble for 2-0.
With minutes United had scored a legitimate goal through
Rooney but the effort was ruled offside, although camera
angles showed the complete opposite of the two previous
Bulgarian influenced goals.
SAF then
scuppered any chance of a hat trick for his latest signing
as on the hour as Berbatov and Gary Neville were substituted
for Carlos Tevez and Wes Brown.
The living breathing can of Red Bull immediately made an
impact as his deflected shot from distance went inches wide
of the post.
With United's midfield cutting off supply the Reds defence
cope easily handling anything Celtic could muster & Rooney
then added his name to the score sheet.
A quick dispatch
by EVDS eventually had Carlos Tevez out on the left where he
teed up Rooney, the prolific Striker made space for himself
and with a quick release gave UNited a three goal cushion &
three points.
