Manchester United 6 v 0 Newcastle United, Old Trafford, 15.00pm, Saturday 12th January 2008.
Goals: Man United: Ronaldo (49), (70), (88) Tevez (55), (90), Ferdinand (85).  Newcastle United: n/a
Attendance: 75,965

We are just one of those team that you see now and then, We often score six but we seldom score ten........... most United fans will be familiar with the words to the old song, but by systematically destroying the Magpies on late Saturday afternoon, Manchester United not only did increase their historical tally of when six goals are scored for United  (increasing to 95 games) but with Steven Taylor & co clearing off the line the Reds could have had fourteen no problems.

Carlos Tevez grabbing a brace was restored to the line up after his ankle injury that had kept him out of the previous weeks FA Cup match & the home side looked sensational with Ronaldo in once again inspired form claiming the match ball after bagging a hat-trick.

The 1st half saw little in the line of goals with Wayne Rooney going close over the top & forcing Given to save on two occasions from Rooney.

Newcastle were living dangerously as United began to find holes & gaps in the Geordies defence, Cacapa cleared a header from John O'Shea & shortly after Rob Styles refused to give the home team a penalty after Steven Taylor had clumsily tackled Ronaldo in the penalty box.

Shay Given forever the busy man when at Old Trafford saved from Ronaldo, and further decent defending save another goal as Stephen Carr from the rebound blocked a Ryan Giggs shot.

The second period opened up in lightning fashion with Newcastle's Taylor clearing off the line from Tevez and Rooney.

If it had not been for Taylor the Barcodes would have been in a much worse state and shortly after the deadlock was finally broken.

Alan Smith was judged to have fouled Ronaldo & the Portuguese forward replied with a shot from the resulting free kick by stroking his shot under the jumping wall from 20 yards out, Newcastle keeper Shay Given did get a hand to the free kick but it was too powerful as Ronaldo score the 1st of his three.

United's second came after the visitors team contribute to their own downfall in spectacular fashion as Cacapa fed a defensive ball to Jose Enrique under pressure Enrique passed to Given who swung a leg at the ball only for the clearance to hit Cacapa.  A thankful & probably shocked Ryan Giggs then found Tevez who stroked the ball home under no pressure at all.

Newcastle's own MOTM Charles N'Zogbia then ensure EVDS at least had something to do after a long range effort was save by the Dutch Stickman.

The third came after what can only be described as "brilliant Football at break neck speed" Michael Carrick impressing well after s slight dip in form began proceedings as the ball shifted to Tevez and Rooney who combined feeding Ronaldo on the right who blasted his effort home.

SAF seeing the Reds had done enough to win the game introduced Danny Simpson and like almost every home match the young Salford born defender almost scored with poor old Given thwarting the youngster.

Wayne Rooney who could have scored 6 goals in this game again grew increasingly frustrated at Given as the Irish keeper kept the strikers name off the goal sheet again.

Fletcher & Nani were then introduced for Anderson & Giggs and Newcastle were wishing for the final whistle to blow as it was the turn of Jose Enrique to clear off the line as a rasping shot from Carrick was the latest United effort bombarding the Newcastle goal.

Another penalty decision went in Newcastle's way after Carr fouled Ferdinand in the box, but referee Rob Styles waved play on, later TV cameras showed that Carr had indeed pushed Rio in the back.

Rio not to be outdone by the fact he had a penalty decision go against then in a United attack ran at the post demanding Rooney gave him the ball, the brilliant and at the same time unlucky not to score Rooney dinked a perfect ball for the on rushing England defender who volley home with power.

Completing his hat trick Ronaldo then scored after his shot was slightly deflected from Jose Enrique in a busy penalty area.

Not entirely finished with their total massacre Carlos Tevez added his second of the game after his shot appeared to crash off the bar bouncing down over the line so it seemed.

TV replays confirmed Newcastle fears and Barcode Captain Alan Smith was so incensed he was sent off by Styles.

United's Man of the Match

22 goals so far this year & 23 at the end of last season and we all though he was playing on another level, the best player in the world is getting better, oh and Ronaldo also missed three games at the beginning of this season.

MUFC.COM's Reaction
Complete Devastation & on another day we could se easily have managed double figures.

The month of September last year saw Premiership Champions Liverpool (hahahaha) miles ahead of United with goals scored & points, beat Derby 6-0 with several stupid dimwits claming this was the year.

Look at the table now, 12 points behind Arsenal in second place.

Credit to those lads who have clawed their way to the top of the league, now lets keep it that way.

Was our prediction correct?
No!! We said 3-0. MUFC INFO 3 v 27 Wrong Predictions.

Comments: It was a superb performance of The Red, but one thing I wonder that why tevez celebrate with the artificial nipple, what that mean??
(Editor: It wasn't a nipple it was a baby's dummy, Carlos's Baby & Wife are apparently in South America & it is his was of saying hello when their Daddy is on the TV.
