Liverpool 0 v 1 Manchester United, Anfield, Liverpool, 13.30pm, Sunday 16th December 2007.
Goals:
Liverpool: n/a   Manchester United: Tevez (43).
Attendance: 44,495

Another important league goal in a big game from Carlos Tevez late in the 1st half was ultimately the goal to take all three points again from Liverpool at Anfield. United's victory was achieved with a Steel Curtain like defensive performance as the Reds rearguard defended with impressive devastating ease holding Liverpool violently at arms length for the entire game with little in the way of troubling the Reds.

Any Liverpool fan with any sort of sense would agree that their team still requires personnel changes but the funniest thing for your reporter is the "half wit" contingent who really with all of their hearts and plastic supportingness thought that this year they would do the business & take over from United as champions.

How very wrong you always are...............with all eyes on just how good
Fernando "Scouse eggs in one basket" Torres was supposed to be & blessed with obvious talent the immensely gifted young striker has, he & Dirk were simply removed from the equation by the immense Vidic & Ferdinand while Hargreaves & the forever impressing 19 year old Brazilian Anderson shielded United's defence professionally and relentlessly quelling any sniff of a chance Liverpool could try to create for almost the entire game.

As the game was settling, United as they always seem to do at Anfield, lined up opting for soaking Liverpool pressure which seems to suit SAF down to the ground, the plan was to keep Liverpool at arms length & it worked no end.  Liverpool crafted the 1st real chance almost on the half hour mark as Jamie Carragher headed into the penalty area & Kewell shot, however Anderson on the line in the right place cleared with Torres heading wide.

Edwin van der Sar was then guilty of flapping at a Gerrard free-kick resulting in Evra requiring to be on full alert by clearing his lines from Dirk Kuyt as Liverpool's attack was blunted time and again as the home side dominated the shots stats 12 to United's 2.

With little in the way of highlights for most of the 1st half, United then took the lead with two minutes of normal time left, failing to keep an eye on Rooney, Ryan Giggs taking full advantage of the Liverpool slack marking fed Rooney who belted a ball into the danger area queue the "Apache" who finished Rooney's assisted shot from close range scoring another high profile goal in a high profile game.

With Liverpool offering little in the second part of the game going forward Benitez then forced changes on the hour as Kewell & Kuyt were replaced by Ryan Babel & Peter "Does the circus know your here" Crouch to give the dippers some much needed presence.

Babel arguably cause United more to worry about in a short spell than his entire team did in the entire game as after Wes Brown failed to clear a header Babel lashed a ball just wide of the post from distance.

United still settling for attack on the counter then carved Liverpool open after the very quiet Ronaldo from the left supplied a perfect ball for Rooney, the young scouser with bags of time side footed the ball pathetically wide, when a goal would have killed Liverpool off for good.

As expected for the home side Liverpool saw plenty of possession for the rest of the game but found a impenetrable brick wall in the form of United's defence and United easily claimed a vitally important three points from our fiercest rivals leaving United top of the league albeit only for a few hours, but most importantly leaving SAF in a fantastic position for the Christmas & beyond title run in.

Just how good is Anderson at 19 years old?
Long term midfield of Hargreaves & Anderson??

United's Man of the Match

Rio Ferdinand was class, a brilliant performance with the added bonus of decking Torres in the process.
Special mention to our Left Back & Two central midfielders also

MUFC.COM's Reaction
Its always nice to beat the Dippers, but on a sour note however, some scummy vermin tosser had made a banner making remarks about Munich & Ice, why weren't these abominations removed, imagine if United had made references to Hysel or Hillsborough at a game at Old Trafford.

The thick bastards who create these banners are so dense they don't even realise that Matt Busby & Bert Whalley both Ex Liverpool players were injured with the latter losing his life in the very crash they mock United fans with.

Was our prediction correct?

No!! We said 2-0. MUFC INFO 3 v 21 Wrong Predictions.
