Manchester United 4 v 0 Dynamo Kyiv, Old Trafford, Manchester, 19.45, Wednesday 7th November 2007.
Goals:
Manchester United: Pique (31), Tevez (37), Rooney (76), Ronaldo (88).   Dynamo Kyiv: n/a.
Attendance: 75,017

Continuing the trend of this season after another 4 goal blitz, Manchester United bought & paid for their respective "Final 16 ticket" after easily disposing of the Ukrainian Champions at Old Trafford.  A historic goal from Gerard Pique and a final three from Tevez, Rooney & Ronaldo gave United an emphatic win.

Danny Simpson, Gerard Pique, Nani  & a very hardworking Darren Fletcher, all started, leaving Hargreaves, Giggs, Ferdinand, Brown & Anderson either on the bench or watching from the stands.

The visitors kept the United attack at bay for the 1st half hour but the game was effectively over in the space of 6 minutes after United scored twice.

The opening goal was a piece of United history as young starlet Gerard Pique rose above the Kiev defence
heading past keeper
Shovkovskiy, after a free kick was awarded to the Reds, Portuguese Gunslinger Cristiano Ronaldo tried an effort which struck Carrick & then more importantly Carlos Tevez, the ball fortunately for United ended up in the air and the Young Spaniard was 1st to react adding himself into the United History books as the 1st Spaniard to score for Manchester United even though Vidic was in an offside position.

Six minutes and a one-two later that even Andrew Cole & Dwight Yorke would have been immensely proud off, the new rising, terrorising partnership of Rooney & Tevez demonstrated again their ever growing communication & similar though patterns as a beautiful exchange in the box after a 30 yard Tevez run saw the Argentinean blast a 20 yard effort
in the net for 2-0,  and with no disrespect it was game over.

The second period saw SAF remove EVDS for Tomasz Kuszczak & in your reporters opinion the Captains armband for the rest of the night and perhaps permanently sometime in the future was given to Nemanja Vidic.

United almost made it a third when Rooney after excellent work slid in a ball to Tevez who delayed far too long resulting in El Kaddouri diverting the danger, but Nani looking dangerous throughout, would then ensure the Reds would make it three, as the young Winger who in MUFCINFO.COM's opinion is a better player than Ronaldo at this stage of his career, found Wayne Rooney in the box for the young scouser to score a easy tap in for an albeit easy but well deserved goal.

Throughout the match it seemed to us here at MUFCINFO.COM that Ronaldo had some sort of bet on this particular game for himself to score as the longer the game went on, the more frustrated Ronaldo become, hands on hips if a ball went too long for him, shaking his head, sulking when Nani just missed when Ronaldo thought was in a better position, however not taking no for an answer, last years Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year after excellent play from Nani in the form of another assist, Ronaldo side footed home from close range after so excellent football making it four.

The prolific winger then pointed at someone on the bench gesturing he had indeed scored, probably making a cool £100 on the way!!!.
