 The
latest product of United's youth setup saw some action
last night as Ravel Morrison made his full, albeit short
debut against Wolves in the 3-2 home win in the Carling
Cup. A local lad, born in Wythenshawe, Ravel grew up in
Longsight, the same area of Manchester as that of
Wesley Brown.
Some rather high praise has
been heaped on his very young shoulders, always a
dangerous mix of pressure & expectation but a shirt
number of 49 was given to Morrison aswell as colleague
Robbie Brady as the 1st steps to a chance of stardom & a
1st team place were served to the two United starlets.
When you do dig a bit deeper
than just following United's current 1st team, you begin
to uncover & get the picture that the Morrison lad is
something special, several sites have wrote about his
talent, as well as a quick search on youtube or other
sources of video clips show some rather remarkable
footage of his skills & goals.
Compared to one Cristiano Ronaldo in one breath & Ryan
Giggs in others, many also claim he is indeed a "better
talent" than Everton's Rodwell & Arsenal's Wiltshire.
As with all emerging
youngsters an early career temperament problem reared
its head, but ask around to those very dedicated reserve
match going Reds & they will tell you that a corner has
been turned in that aspect, another area of improvement
which has been answered by Morrison was the physique of
the midfielder, again taking a positive step several
sources report he has improved in this department
recently.
A point worth noting is the
rumoured fact that SAF was in his power "shielding" him
from media attention such is the hype around the lad,
but with his comparisons as mentioned earlier & his
obvious talent, it seems SAF must feel he is about ready
to be given his chance, and after all age doesn't matter
if there good enough.
