On Wednesday 11th August 2010 Manchester United announced they had agree the signing of Portuguese born Forward Tiago Manuel Dias Correia or "Bebe" for short, which translates in Portuguese to "Baby" an idea reportedly originating from his older brother.

United shocked many by signing a player, who little over a year ago was a participant in the 2nd European Street Football Festival - Foča 09.  United's new man who apparently is limited in his English, was part of a team representing Associação CAIS, a streetfootballworld network member from Portugal.

Associação CAIS Director Henrique Pinto said of Bébé, . “We came into contact with Tiago, or Bébé as he is known, at the beginning of 2009. He has been living in institutions all his life and we selected him to participate in Foča 09 because we felt it would be a beneficial experience for him” commented .

United snapped up the Portuguese youngster who can play in all forward positions quickly before Real Madrid & Benfica came sniffing & under the advice of Ex United coach Carlos Queiroz the Reds made the signing even before SAF had saw Bebe kick a ball!!!.

“Our scouting department is very good and you have got to trust your staff said United's boss. "Our scout in Portugal was adamant that we must do something quickly, and I also spoke to Carlos".

"Sometimes you have to go on an instinct, you look at material, you look at the player's age and whether they're bringing pace, balance, desire to play and things like that. That's how a category is formed."

SAF also shed some light on why the Reds rushed to snap up Bebe when he revealed Real Madrid & intrest from other parties “You'd have to ask Real if they were interested, but I know they were hovering and so were Benfica. said SAF, So were one or two other clubs, and that's where you have to make quick decisions in life - and I'm not too bad at that."

On Wednesday 18th August at United's official press conference SAF & MUFC unveiled their latest captures with a 23 minute press conference, which saw Bebe talk to the media.

"To come to a team like this is a dream come true for any player" said Bebe, but the Portuguese factor was a motivation for me,"

"You have big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, who played here and became a very big player. Nani and Anderson are still at the club and I want to become like them. I will work hard to become a top quality player."

David Gill said of United's latest signing "He's a potential player. A lot of Manchester United's focus is about getting players who have the potential and then getting them under the great coaching of Alex, Mick, Rene and other people. I think it's going to be exciting."

"He's a player we've been following, but he really came on the scene in the last week or so," Gill told MUTV. "We looked at him, spoke to a number of people about him and then went out and secured the deal yesterday."  "He'll join up and be part of the first team squad this season," said Gill. "I think he'll probably stay this year. (He is) a boy who has to learn English and integrate into Manchester United, and he's really come from nowhere in a lot of respects.

"I think he'll benefit from having day to day coaching from some of the best coaches in the world in the Manchester United way. He'll certainly be with us this season and you never know, we'll see what happens
