My latest project here at mufcinfo.com has taken some months to complete, but finally after months of painstaking typing & much research and reading, mufcinfo.com proudly presents a decade listing of every time a Newton Heath or Manchester United player has scored three or more in a competitive match.

	The overall hat tricks leader is Denis Law who managed the feat a whopping 18 times. scoring a hat trick 14 times & 4 goals in a game 4 times.
	The 1st ever hat trick was scored in the same game by both William Steward & Robert Donaldson who on the 15/10/1892 v Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) North Road W 10-1 (League Division One) managed to each bag 3 goals.   There are no records of who struck the hat trick 1st.
	The 1st FA Cup HAt trick  was scored by Joe Cassidy on 30/01/1897 v Kettering (H) Bank Street W 5-1 (FA Cup 1st Round)
	The 1st hat trick at Old Trafford was scored by Jack Picken on 30/04/1910 v Middlesbrough (H) Old Trafford W 4-1 (League Division One)
	Harold Halse set a United record which has only been match once when he scored 6 goals in one game on 25/09/1911 v Swindon Town (N) Stamford Bridge W 8-4 (Charity Shield)
	Jack Rowley scored five times on 12/02/1949 v Yeovil Town (N) Maine Road W 4-1 (FA Cup 5th Round)
	The 1st hat trick in Europe saw history virtually repeated itself on 26/09/1956 v RSC Anderlecht (H) Maine Road W 10-0 (European Cup Pr Round 1st Leg) when both Tommy Taylor notched up three & Dennis Viollet scored 4 times @ Maine Road when United destroyed Belgian outfit RSC Anderlecht in what was the Reds maiden voyage into the European Cup.
	George Best matched Harold Halse's record of six goals in a game on 07/02/1970 v Northampton Town (A) Country Ground W 8-2 (FA Cup 5th Round)
	Andrew Cole matches Jack Rowley's haul of 5 in one game on 04/03/1995 v Ipswich Town (H) Old Trafford W 9-0 (Premiership)
	Wayne Rooney was the last man to score a hat trick for the Reds on 23/01/2010 v Hull City (H) Old Trafford W 4-0 (Premiership)
