Michael Owen is confident that Manchester United can bounce back after their significant loss to Manchester City

After losing 6-1 to Manchester City recently, Manchester United will be looking to bounce back stronger than ever in the fourth round tie. Striker Michael Owen has been speaking about their situation and the club's intentions with their next game. He has warned that as Premier League Champions, they want to further their success in this competition and that they are going to take their upcoming game against Aldershot very seriously. It is likely that Aldershot will go into this match feeling relatively confident, after their 5-2 victory over Dagenham and Redbridge. This win ended what had been a five-game losing streak for Aldershot and they will be hoping that this break will continue.

Owen is still hopeful however. He was with his team during their third League Cup win in five years, at the end of the 2009/10 season. He was a main contributor to this victory, with his equalising goal against Aston Villa. He is a top player, and many football fans pay attention when he is playing a game, and even those who are not as interested in football tend to take a break from playing partypoker or reading a book to watch the action. Owen also gained a brace in the last game of the competition he played in, against Leeds United. He has voiced his club's ambition to win the Carling Cup, having done well in the competition over the years.

He is hoping that they can beat Aldershot, even though their opponents will be aiming for a surprise victory. This will be a big game for Aldershot, having Manchester United come to play, and they will want to hold their own. Owen is hoping to appear in the game, and there will no doubt be many changes to the starting line-up after their massive loss to Manchester City. The team playing Aldershot should be very strong, as many top players were on the bench during the previous game and will be eager to get on the field.
